Exchange Circuits
Circuit Notes
Greetings to all circuit members! The circuit is in good heart, with some slow-downs cause by myself shifting house and other things, please forgive me. Both Barry Gray and I are now active and will be keeping everything up to date.
A Word to our Patient Vendors:
- Please number the pages in your booklets prior to sending them to me. We have had a recent instance of some pages going missing and no one noticed until it was too late.
- Please no packets of stamps that can't be easily checked for contents and quality etc. We have had a recent case of some of the more valuable stamps in a set within a packet going missing and not noticed by anyone (including myself) until returned to the Vendor. Use Hawid mount or the like please.
- Thanks for all your help in keeping a good standard of presentation and quality of stamps and please keep the booklets coming in.
A Word to our Buyers:
- Please keep a good check on the booklets, and gaps that are not initialled. We have recently had a booklet gone missing and turning up via the kindness of another Circuit Manager forwarding it on. Not noticed until it was too late to really check it out properly.
- I would like to thank those that have checked the booklets carefully and noted these things and let me know. I would rather know about any discrepancy when it happens so it can be effectively checked. Normally it is a mistake and the last purchaser has forgotten to initial all the stamp gaps taken but can be checked by his returns or the cover details.
- Thanks for your continued support, without your contribution we would not have a circuit.

Circuit Report - May 2008
We have had a good year with our total Income (just) exceeding our top year by a few dollars. Thanks to all, both suppliers and buyers.
I would also like to bring to the attention of all Circuit members that I was advised by the NZ Post that there was a mail bag theft on the 21st February 2008, and therefore please cancel all cheques sent to me at 126B St Andrews Rd., Epsom on or around the 19th and 20th Feb. I received no mail on that Thursday the 21st when the one day's mail was stolen.
Please advise me if you are affected by this loss of mail.
Please phone me at (09)630 7754 about this.
It is with some regret however I would like to resign from this post as from the 31st March 2009, then that will be around 4-5 years of service. The Society is anxious that there is a new Exchange Superintendent to replace me. If anyone has any interest in continuing on with this essential service that the Society provides, could you please let Bruce Chadderton, Nic Hendy or myself.

The Auckland Philatelic Society operates an Exchange Branch, which provides stamps on approval to those members who wish to use this service. The system can be used to sell your duplicates.
If you would like to join the circuit, or get some blank booklets to mount your stamps for sale in, please contact the Exchange Superintendent, Phil Platt, on AK 630-7754, or email him.
